I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
